Golden Youth a 2nd division side locked horns with Madina Republicans at their base at Apanteng along the Aburi-Nsawam road on Friday.

The game was preparatory preparations for Golden Youth who will enplane very soon for a tournament in Serbia. It was a great game by all standards to see the players exhibiting the techniques which they were shown at the training grounds to bare.

In the first half Republicans dominated play but excellent counter attacking football from the Golden Youth guys made things hard for the homesters and until Madina Republicans shot into the lead with two goals. It became a ding dong battle for supremacy until the end of the referee’s whistle for the first half to come to an end.

The second half started with Golden Youth doing most of the workout and then immediately got one goal through their schemer who came in as a substitute with a trademark free kick to reduce the tally by one. They pressed on for the needed equalizer until it came in the dying embers of match from a corner kick but Madina Republicans had the last laugh when they squeezed in the third goal through a goalmouth melee.

It was a great game and in the end both coaches for Golden Youth and Republicans were happy with the test match they played. Tuah Khemix for Republicans and Nana of Golden Youth Fc spoke about how ready they are with any game that comes their way.

In all it was a great game to watch and had fun with some seasoned players and journalists as well.
