Omy Television has signed a partnership deal with Women in Sports Association(WISA) to project the vision of rewarding well deserved women sports athletes in Ghana
The deal was singed by the Chief Executive Officer of OMY TV, Miss Joyce Aku Mensah and the Madam Gloria Commodore, Executive Director of WISA for OMY TV and WISA respectively.
Miss Joyce Aku Mensah who assumes the position as the new director for WISA said“ We will try our best and support WISA to the level that it deserves. As a young lady, it is my desire to see ladies venture into sports hence my interest in seeing to success of WISA”
Miss Aku also said “ Our TV station is sports centred so we shall use our medium to project WISA by giving it the needed publicity and support WISA financially “
“I’ thank Madam Gloria Commodore for reposing confidence in me by handing over WISA to me for further successes”
The Executive Director of WISA, Madam Gloria Commodore also said
“I am glad to have a vibrant lady in the person of Madam Aku who will continue to promote WISA by helping me project the agenda of awarding female sports personalities”
WISA will be five years this year and will be awarding ladies who excelled last year.
This year’s award ceremony is set to take place in the month of September

The father of young Hearts of Oak midfielder, Manaf Umar has passed on.
Mr. Umar Shaibu joined the heavenly choir yesterday between the hours of 1pm to 2pm in the Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi.
The cause of his death is however yet to be made public by the family.

Fox has renewed their hit series ‘Empire’ for its 6th season but with no plans to bring back the character played by Jussie Smollett as ‘Jamal’.
Jussie Smollett was charged with 16 felonies some months back, after it was revealed he staged the attack himself, although all the charges against him were cleared by mutual agreement, the studio has negotiated an extension to his option for season six of the hit series.
There are no plans of the character ’Jamal’ returning to Empire as explained in a statement by Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV .

Former You Tuber Austin Jones has been sentenced to ten years in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count of “receipt of child pornography”.
Jones rose to fame as a musician with his ‘‘acapella’’ covers of popular songs. In 2015, there were controversies of him contacting underage girls to send him explicit videos.
YouTube removed Jones’ channel back in February after his guilty plea but Jones was later arrested in 2017 for soliciting explicit videos from two underage girls. Jones pleaded guilty to the charges while YouTube demonetized his account, it didn’t initially remove his account but later changed its mind and took the channel down. Now, Jones will spend up to a decade in prison.
The City of Los Angeles has renamed a 4-mile stretch of road from “Rodeo Road” to “Obama Boulevard,” in honor of the country’s first African-American president, stating the significance of the location which was the first city Obama had his campaign rally on February 20, 2007 at Rancho Cienega Park.
City Council President, Herb Wesson after the renaming on Saturday, tweeted that, every child who will drive down the street and sees the name of the first black President will serve as a physical reminder that no goal is out of reach and no dream is too big.
Wesson introduced the idea to rename the stretch of road back in 2017, but was approved last August which is exactly ten years after Obama made history by becoming the Democratic Party’s first African – American presidential nominee on August 28, 2008.The city voted for the name change.
