The Black Queens lost their second match at the on going Total African Women’s Championship by two goals to one. The game was wonderful but the Malians where more determined to win the game than the Queens but on the field of play the score line says it all. The Malians opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the first half through a penalty neatly scored by Bassira Touré after the Ghanaian goalie has been adjudged to have held the legs of the Malian attacker. The first half ended in favor of the Malians but when the second half started the Ghanaians rallied to equalize through their skipper Elizabeth Addo also from the spot. The Malians earned a freekick and scored again through Bassira Touré . they held on the score line till the end of the match. Referee on that day was abysmal and didn’t do well in executing her duties to the detriment of the fans at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Going forward Ghana will be meeting their Cameroonian counterparts in a do and die match at the same venue on Friday. Lets all say a prayer for the Black Queens.
